Vytex Windows Introduces VyGuard™ Laminated Glass
New Glass Adds Even More Strength, Security, and Protection from the Elements
Laurel, MD – Vytex Windows has announced that it will offer VyGuard™ Laminated Glass as an optional feature for its top-of-the-line Heritage Series windows as well as the company's new Signature Sliding Patio Doors.
"We're always looking for ways to improve our products through next-generation glass technology," said Andy Weinrub, Vytex's CEO. "By enhancing the safety, security, and environmental protection of our premier Heritage Series windows and Signature patio doors, VyGuard offers our customers leading-edge window and glass technology."
VyGuard uses two pieces of double-strength (DSB) glass bonded together by a durable plastic polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer to create an inner pane of insulated glass unit (IGU), with a single piece of double-strength annealed glass as the exterior pane.
VyGuard significantly increases the value of homeowners' replacement window investment, through improved:
- Safety: The PVB interlayer absorbs the energy of a sudden impact and resists penetration, minimizing the risk of injuries and improving home security. Although the glass may break, the glass fragments remain firmly bonded to the interlayer.
- Sound Reduction: VyGuard absorbs sound and reduces sound transmission by as much as 30%.
- Environmental Protection: In the event of a severe storm, VyGuard protects your home from interior and exterior damage and its inhabitants from injuries from flying debris.
